Care of Cornelius.
He was born September 24, 1929 to the late William Roland Yarberry, Jr. and Alice Poe
Yarberry in Martinsville, VA. Ralph graduated from Asheboro High School and Pfeiffer
College. After proudly serving his country in the United States Army, Ralph worked for
both IBM and Duke Power (Energy) in Charlotte before enjoying full retirement. He and
his wife Sara joined Advent Lutheran Church in 1987, and he was a proud honorary
lifetime member of Lutheran Men in Mission at Advent.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his brother Dempsey H
Yarberry. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sara Payne Sosebee Yarberry; son
Ralph Willis Yarberry, Jr (Diane); daughter Anna Jane Daniel (Don). Grandchildren
include Ellen Yarberry Garcia and Cameron Yarberry. In addition to 2 great
grandchildren, Paisley & Jackson Garcia, he is survived by niece Vickie Sandhorst
(Mike) and nephew Victor Yarberry (Sybil) and other numerous loving nieces and
nephews. He is also survived by Ruth Sosebee Titus and Elizabeth Sosebee Webster
and grandchildren Meagan & Catherine Titus and Ian & Alan Webster.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 27th at Advent Lutheran Church
located at 8840 University City Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28213 with music beginning at
10:45. A luncheon will follow. Pastors Ward Misenheimer and Gary Coble will be
officiating.
