

Charlotte - Ray Fagin, 92, passed peacefully away at home at Sunrise on Providence on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Born in the Bronx, NY on May 25, 1921, Ray was preceded in death by her parents Rose and Joseph Klinghoffer, and her husband of 55 years, Samuel Fagin.
Ray worked as a model and bookkeeper, and helped her husband start Fairhaven Textiles in NYC. Having lived in Hartsdale, NY, she retired to Tamarac, FL before spending her final years in Charlotte.
Ray is survived by daughters, Carol Hahn (Howard) of Omaha, NE and Matti Ordan Reider (Scott) of Weddington, NC; grandchildren, Melissa Jampol (Seth Moskowitz), Scott (Patricia) Jampol, Jeremy (Mary) Ordan, and Jesse Ordan; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Max Moskowitz, Sammy and Ali Jampol, Alexandria and Anastasia Ordan and Kennedy Ordan.
She was a lifelong member and president of B'nai Brith Women, and founded B'nai Brith Girls in Ardsley, NY. She and her husband traveled the world and patronized the arts in New York and Florida. Ray became a Bat Mitzvah at age 90. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves cherished memories with her children, their families and nieces and nephews.
Ray will be buried next to her husband, Sam in Sharon Gardens, Valhalla, NY on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 11 am.
