Regina Goldenberg passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She lived a full, joyful life defined by devotion, laughter, and an unwavering love for those fortunate enough to call her theirs.
Regina was the beloved wife of Leon Goldenberg, with whom she shared an extraordinary love story spanning 64 years of marriage. There was truly no greater love than theirs—a partnership rooted in loyalty, humor, and deep affection that set an example for all who knew them.
A passionate educator for decades, Regina dedicated her professional life to teaching young children, with a special fondness for preschoolers. She believed deeply in the power of early education and helped shape countless young lives through programs such as Head Start. Teaching was never just a job for Regina—it was a calling, one she pursued with patience, creativity, and heart.
Family meant everything to Regina. She was the proud matriarch—a strong, fearless woman who led with warmth and wisdom. Holidays, especially Thanksgiving, were never complete without her annual speeches, moments that blended humor, gratitude, and love in a way only she could deliver. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel seen, special, and deeply loved. To Regina, even the little things mattered—and that attention to life’s small joys made her presence unforgettable.
Regina is survived by her four children, David, Mark (Tina), Jeff, and Julie (Pascal), who were the center of her world. She was a mother who didn’t just welcome her children’s partners, she embraced them as her own. She leaves behind nine beloved grandchildren Alex, Jordan, Ash, Olivia, Noah, Sean, Luke, Harrison, and Chloe and one cherished great-grandchild, Charlotte, who brought her enormous joy.
Regina’s heart was expansive; her life was enriched by a wide circle of extended family, dear friends, and those who remained close to her throughout the years, all of whom she loved unconditionally.
Throughout her life, Regina called many places home, including New Jersey, California, Florida, and North Carolina. She loved to travel, visiting several countries and nearly every U.S. state, though cruising held a special place in her heart. Wherever she went, she embraced life fully—always with curiosity, laughter, and style.
Regina was funny, vibrant, and endlessly caring. Her warmth filled rooms, her laughter lifted spirits, and her love will continue to echo through generations. While she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she lived a great life and left behind a legacy of love, strength, and connection.
She will forever remain in our hearts.
Funeral services will be held privately with family and close friends on Friday, January 30, 2026.
