

Richard W. Caskey (74) passed away quietly on the morning of November 4, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Wilmington, NC on August 14, 1942 Richard and his family moved to the Charlotte area in the late 1940s. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis T. and Eva Belle Caskey.
After graduating from North Mecklenburg High School in 1960 Richard began a lifelong career of service and repair work. He owned and operated Caskey Electric Company, and then continued to work with A-1 and Crown Central Petroleum from which he retired in 2004.
An avid car fanatic, Richard was gifted with mechanical abilities. A collector of British Sports cars as well as American muscle cars he was a member of the Triumph Club of the Carolinas. He was also a member of the Civil War Trust and the Historical Preservation Society both of which fueled his love history.
Richard is survived by his wife Linda, his daughters Claire Caskey Lundquist, Julie Lynn Caskey, Leslie Caskey Rogers, and Monica Renae McGuire. He has two granddaughters Hannah Grace Rogers and Rachel Rogers Huerta, and one great-grandchild Hendrix Wright. His brother Jerry Thomas Caskey still resides in their family home in the Derita area. He is also survived by many wonderful and life-long friends.
The family will receive family and friends from Noon to 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 7, 2016.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 7th at 2:00 P.M. in the McEwen Funeral Service, Derita Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Terry Moore officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Novant Hospice of Charlotte and Weddington United Methodist Church.
