Richard DeMund

Richard was born in Bluffton, Indiana to the late Col. Robert John DeMund and Elizabeth E. DeMund (Mead). He traveled extensively with his parents in the US and abroad. Richard graduated from Hargrove Military Academy in Chatham, Virginia and proceeded to graduate from the Methodist College in Fayetteville, North Carolina with a Bachelor's Degree. He married Crystal on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii and honeymooned there as well. Richard continued his traveling with his own family. One of his most memorable trips was when his son was eight years old and he took the family to a dude ranch in Colorado. Mom, Dad and son all rode horses and enjoyed camping together.

Richard lived in Charlotte, NC since 1970. He was an Accountant by trade. Richard loved all animals, dogs, cats, birds and fish.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife, of 44 years, Crystal Sipe DeMund, his son Raymond John DeMund of Charlotte, North Carolina, his brother, Steven Michael DeMund and his wife Mae of Oroville, California.

Family and Friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service on August 14th at 12:30 pm at the South Mecklenburg Church, 8601 Bryant Farms Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28277. A luncheon will follow. Family requests that flowers be delivered to South Mecklenburg Church.
