Richard was born in Gaston County, NC to Oliver and Helen Morris. As a child he enjoyed time with family, playing guitar, and burning up the roads with his Maverick.
Richard graduated from Harding HS. He attended Mechanic College and became very successful with his skills.
As a career, Richard was an excellent mechanic and hard worker. He was very intelligent and could fix almost anything. He enjoyed building car motors and drag racing.
In addition to his father Oliver, he was predeceased by Savannah Marie Morris and Carol Maxfield.
He is survived by his mother Helen Morris, daughter Jessica Morris, Nancy Morris, his brothers Rickie, Steve, and Ronnie Morris, and sister Marsha Lynn Cochran.
Services will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at McEwen Funeral Home, Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210 with Visitation beginning at 6 pm, Memorial Service at 7 pm, followed by Masonic rights. Food and refreshments will be provided after service.
Flowers may be sent to McEwen Pineville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s honor can be made to Steele Creek Masonic Lodge #737.
