Born in Wilkes County, NC on July 28, 1924, daughter of the late William Jasper Columbus Wilson and Rachel Katherine Galleon Wilson, Rita had been employed as a cafeteria worker in the public school system and was a member of Northdale Baptist Church.
Preceding her death were her husband, Frank Whishart Neal, a daughter, Rita Lynn Markham and a step-son, Allen Webb.
Survivors include a son, Frank William Neal and his wife, Judith; two sisters, Darlene Dellinger and Rachel Hundley; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 1 to 2 pm at Northdale Baptist Church, 8104 Statesville Road, Charlotte, NC 28269, where a memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
