He was born on May 31, 1958, in Chapel Hill, NC, to Robert Miller Becknell, Sr., and Adeline Moore Becknell.
Robert was a service manager for Technocom Office Equipment in Charlotte.
He was a devoted father and family man and much beloved brother. He was also an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Kelly Stallings Becknell and his son, Robert Taylor Becknell, both of Charlotte; his parents, Robert Miller Becknell, Sr. and Adeline Moore Becknell, Greensboro, NC; his two brothers, Ken Becknell (Jennifer), Rock Hill, SC, and Walter Becknell (Anne), Greensboro, NC; his two sisters, Julie Curry, Greensboro, NC, and Amy Rose (Christopher), Kansas City, Kansas; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church, 410 North Holden Road, Greensboro, NC. Reverend Susan Norman Vickers and Reverend John Blesch will officiate.
