

Robert Collins of Charlotte, NC, passed away at Levine & Dickson Hospice House Southminster on Sunday, October 26, 2014. Bob was born in Dyersburg, TN, on July 9, 1948, a son of the late Mary Dawson and Richard Collins Sr.
Bob graduated from the University of Tennessee after earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering after which he went to work for Duke Energy and retired after 27 years. He was an avid Pool Player and was a member of the APA and Eightball Express. Bob also enjoyed furniture building and wood working and was a master craftsman. He also enjoyed working in his yard and being outside.
Bob leaves his loving wife, Lela Anne Collins, to cherish his memory. Survivors also include his brother Richard C. Collins Jr (Carla), nephew Michael Shane Collins (Regina) and their children Nick, Mackenzie and Mary Kate, niece Amy Hefner (Robert), niece Lisa Caldwell (Mike) and their children Mackenzie and Tripp, niece Cristie Muston (Josh) and their children Eyan and Spencer and nephew Ryan Bramlett (Lindsey) and their daughter Cami Grace.
A visitation to celebrate and remember the life of Robert “Bubba” Collins will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 30, 2014, at McEwen Chapel at 5716 Monroe Road.
The family wishes to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff and caregivers at the Levine Cancer Institute, Morehead, CMC – Main, Healthy at Home, Levine Dickson Hospice House Southminster and Charlotte Fire Department Engine 3 on Monroe Road.
