Born January 6th, 1961 in Manhasset, New York. He was a son of Faye Harris Corley and the late Robert Corley, Sr. He went to Saint Peters of Alcantara and Saint Mary’s of Manhasset. He then graduated from Paul D. Schreiber High School. Bobby furthered his education at LeMoyne Owens College and Memphis State in Memphis, Tennessee. He then went on to serve his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He was a “jack of all trades,” working for local businesses in the Port Washington community. The positions he enjoyed the most were as a United States Marine and at Pro Logistics- as he spoke of his co workers and customers fondly.
The joy of Bobby’s life was his family and friends. He had a magnetic personality and touched everyone he met. He had a captivating smile and beautiful hazel eyes, that sparkled. His presence filled up the room. He adored his wife, the former Sarah Cruz, whom he married September 12th, 2010. He was also a devoted father and grandfather. Bobby loved the Lord, our Father; grilling steaks and potatoes, American Classic movies, and took pleasure reading the newspaper. Last, but not least, he loved his home state of New York.
He is survived by his wife, his lifelong partner of 23 years, Sarah Cruz Corley; his five children, Tiffany Wise of Fayetteville, NC, Jonathan Diaz Cruz, Bryan Diaz Cruz, Thalia Ivette Corley, Shane Robert Corley, all of Charlotte, NC and his grandson, Avery Corley Wise; his sister Junienne Corley Hylton of Williston Park, NY, his brother Lawrence Corley and his mother, Faye Harris Corley, both of Great Neck, NY. leaves a host of nieces, nephews and beloved friends and family behind. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Robert Corley III.
A service to celebrate Bobby’s life will be held at McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210 on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 7:00 pm. The visitation will be at 6:00 pm at the same location.
