

Robert Eckles, 69, of Charlotte died on Thursday, August 25, 2011 in Wadesboro, NC while working in the great outdoors he loved so much. He also enjoyed tennis, traveling and being with his grandkids. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all that knew and loved him.
He was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on December 20, 1941 to Robert and Ilene Adkins Eckles. He was a US Army Korean Conflict Veteran who served his country honorably. Robert attended the University of Geneva where he earned a degree in structural engineering.
He was employed by Textron for 37 years. Robert was a Home Inspector and also part owner of Kleen Pro Water & Restoration.
Survivors include his wife Dolores Eckles of Charlotte; 2 daughters Kelly Ricer and Karen Gabriel both of Charlotte; 6 grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan, Matthew, Melanie, Zachary and Robbie; 1 brother James Eckles and his wife Jeanne of Kansas City, MO; 1 step brother Clifford and his wife Peg Noah also of Kansas City, MO.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 3016 Providence Rd., Charlotte, NC with Father Frank O’Rourke celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn East Cemetery Mausoleum, 3700 Forest Lawn Dr., Matthews, NC 28104. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 9:00 pm on Monday, August, 29, 2011 at McEwen Funeral Service Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210.
