Robert B. Jacobs

Rob was born on September 26, 1949 in Boston, Massachusetts, a son of the late Denholm Jacobs and Margaret Bottomly Jacobs.

Rob graduated from The Hill School in Pennsylvania in 1968. He obtained his bachelor's degree from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1972, and his MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Business in 1977.

Rob was a loving father and grandfather. He was always a great source of support and humor. Rob’s memory encompasses an enormous pride of his family, a crowd of adoring friends, and an honorable legacy in his profession.

Rob is survived by his daughter, Lauren Thurmond; sons, Charlie Jacobs and Robert Jacobs; his grandson, Charlie Thurmond; and his son-in-law, Wes Thurmond, all of Charlotte, North Carolina; his nephew, Jason Ashur; his siblings, Meg Ashur, Margaret Coan, and Denholm Jacobs; his brother-in-law, John Coan; his nephews, Michael Coan, Patrick Coan, Ryan Coan; and his niece, Sophia Jacobs.

A private reception for family and friends will be held at a later date.
