

Born on March 17, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Bruce and Vera Macdonald. Following graduation from Bayside High School, he furthered his education in banking, working his way up to Group Senior Vice President at Norstar Bank, N.Y., a predecessor of Fleet Bank of Rhode Island and Bank of America.
Al leaves behind his two daughters, Christine Enersen (Steve), Linda and his granddaughters, Danielle (Michael), Kirsten and Julia. He also leaves behind his partner of many years, Barbara; her children, Michael, Bill, Kevin (Barbara), Barbara (Jim) and Kathleen; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Al was a member of the National Guard. His love of finance continued in his retirement years where he spent many hours following the stock market. He enjoyed playing golf and walking at the beach in his spare time. He was an avid New York Islander and New York Yankees fan.
A service celebrating Al's life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 7th, at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte.
