Many years ago I met Bob on my first day of work at Ferebee Walters on June 5th 1972. It took me a long time to understand what I was suppose to learn from Bob about architecture and life. We had friendly arguments over the years that sometimes continued right through lunch but never to the point that it changed our friendship. Even last month at an AIA luncheon Bob was giving me unsolicited advice. We still laughed together as we recalled earlier days. Bob was all about doing projects right even if the Owner did not agree with him. I learned a lot from Bob about building projects and a lot about life too.
God has a lot of architects but none like Bob. I will surely miss him but now he has a client with an unlimited budget and no schedule to keep. Oh Happy Days are ahead for my friend.
