Robert Tomlinson Wylie

Robert was a senior at UNC-Charlotte pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering. Robert will be remembered for his big heart, love of life, and devotion to family and friends. His passions were his dogs Duke and Daisy, Duke basketball, the Carolina Panthers, and playing golf. Robert was a strong athlete who competed in football, basketball, baseball, soccer, and golf.

Robert is survived by his parents, Robert Raleigh Wylie and Elizabeth Fort Wylie; sister, Lauren Wylie Billings (Steven); brother, David Alexander Wylie; grandparents, Lynn Fort III and Marian Swartley Fort; uncles, William Otis Wylie, Jr. (Judy), Walter Alexander Wylie (Anne); aunts, Carolyn Fort Kromer (Paul), Janet Louise Fort, Kathryn Fort Fitzpatrick (Mark); cousins, Annabelle Wylie McLane (Sean), Elizabeth Leigh Wylie, William Otis Wylie, III, Derek Franczek Kromer, Jeffrey Lynn Kromer, Olivia Marian Kromer, Jackson Fort Fitzpatrick, and Samuel Lynn Fitzpatrick. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Otis Wylie and Margaret Annabelle Shoemaker Wylie.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 pm on Wednesday, January 21, at Harry & Bryant, 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte. The funeral service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 22, in the Harry & Bryant chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
