
February 8, 1922 – January 27, 2015
Roger Dale Nagel, formerly of Hamilton, Illinois, at age 92 has just experienced being absent from the body and present with the LORD.
His parents were Paul and Hilda (Altheide) Nagel. A sister, Lorene, and her husband Harold Miller, sister-in-law Jean Nagel and brother-in-law Albert (“Ted”) Manzke preceded him in death.
Survivors are :
Nephews Philip and David Miller and their families. Brother Jarel Nagel and children, Barry, Susan (Nagel) Jones, Stephen and Daniel Nagel and their families. Sister Marian (Nagel) Manzke and sons, John and Robert (“Bob”) Manzke and their families.
Well-beloved, Roger leaves behind many happy and sacred memories for relatives and a host of friends. Father, Paul, died in 1940 and Mother, Hilda, in 1954.
Family members remember well how, at the age of eighteen, together with his mother, Roger took on family responsibility. He has been a very good brother.
Sister Lorene made it possible for the family to move to Hamilton where Roger finished high school. Following that, Roger graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois, and the R.N. course at Bellevue Hospital in New York City in preparation for mission work with SIM.
Roger served as a missionary with SIM for 22 years in Ethiopia and 16 years in the USA headquarters, and volunteered for 18 years in SIM’s archives.
A funeral service will be held at 3 pm Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Calvary Church. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Interment Magnolia Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to SIM.
