Ronald Barry Ellison Sr.

Mr. Ellison, age 68, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 20, 2010. He was born on January 22, 1942 in Spartanburg County, SC, a son of the late Leonard Hardy Ellison, Sr. and Sarah Kitchens Ellison.

Ron was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather who brought joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He will always be in our hearts. Ron leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, of 43 years, Judy Wilkerson Ellison; two daughters, Beth Griffin and her husband, Hank, of Charlotte and Leigh Snelling and her husband, Randy, of Mount Holly; one son, Ronald Barry Ellison, Jr. of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Kenneth Griffin, Andrea Hester, Evan Griffin, Steven Snelling and Emily Griffin; two sisters, Mary Shook and her husband, Al, Betsy Parr and her husband, Rick; a brother, Leonard Hardy Ellison, Jr.; a half brother, Robert Pursell and his wife, Rose; and many nieces and nephews.

The memorial service to celebrate the life of Ronald Barry Ellison, Sr. will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 24, 2010 in the Chapel of Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
