Ronald Wayne Kinney

He was born on February 14, 1957 in Birmingham, Alabama to Harold and Grace Kinney. The Kinney family moved to Charlotte when Ron was 3 years old. He began his work career at the family business, Kinney Stamp and Engraving.

Ron was an active member of the Singles group at Calvary Church in Charlotte. In the spring of 1985, he met his future wife, Ann, on a beach retreat to Ocean Isle, NC. They were married later that October and remained happily married for 34 years.

Ron loved all things aviation, a passion he has passed on to his son, Joshua. He enjoyed watching Premiere League soccer, strolling through Harbor Town in Hilton Head, SC, playing guitar and spending time with his family. He was an active member of Threshold Church and loved his church family. The have faithfully provided love and support to Ron and his family during this difficult time.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Grace Kinney.

Ron is survived by his wife, Ann of Charlotte, NC; his son Joshua and his daughter Sarah. He is also survived by his brothers Fred, Jerry and Dave.

A memorial service will be held at Threshold Church, 3501 Antioch Church Road, Weddington, NC 28104 at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 18, 2020. The family will be greeting friends and relatives prior to the service between 1:00 – 2:00 pm. The service will also be live streamed via the Threshold Church YouTube page for those who are unable to attend in person.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
