Ruby Mae (Johnson) Edmondson

A native of Jefferson, SC she was the youngest child of Carl Matthias Johnson and Annie Bell Campbell. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School. She attended Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, NC as well as Appalachian State University in Boone. Ruby graduated with a Doctorate of Education from Nova University in Florida as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist.

Ruby loved helping children in schools as a psychologist for 29 years. Her loving personality endeared young and old. She had a heart of gold very strong in character and will. Her favorite pastimes were cooking, traveling and collecting antiques. She spent ten years living in Rockwell, NC and the last 35 years in Charlotte.

In addition to her parents, Carl Matthias Johnson and Annie Bell Campbell, Ruby was preceded in death by siblings Leonard Johnson and his wife Betty; Henry Johnson and his wife Eleanor (Tootsie); Clarence Johnson and Mary Johnson.

Survivors include her best friend Dwayne Winchester of Charlotte, sister Martha Jowers of Camden SC and niece Sandy Morrow and her husband Mark. Ruby is also survived by nephews Charles and Wesley Johnson and niece Susan Johnson.

Ruby was a former active member of Myers Park Presbyterian Church in Charlotte.

A graveside service is planned 2pm on Friday, February 23, 2023 at Sharon Memorial Park located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte.
