She was born in Chesterfield County, South Carolina on July 24, 1927, one of nine children, to the late Luther M. Sellers and Clara Ione (Moore) Sellers. Ruby and her siblings grew up on the family farm and all did their share of helping their mom and dad with work in the house and out on the farm.
Though the shared name is just an interesting coincidence, Ruby graduated from Ruby High School in Ruby, SC. Following graduation, she married the love of her life, Jack A. Morgan.
She spent her life as a hardworking, loving, and doting caretaker to her two boys – Michael and Douglas.
Ruby enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, and she was a deeply beloved mom and grandma to her family. She was a friend to all and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. If your conversation started as strangers, it always ended as friends.
Ruby is survived by her children, Michael Morgan and Douglas Morgan (Helen); her grandchildren, Lorie, Mickey, and Melissa (Jamie); as well as numerous loving great-grandchildren, siblings, other relatives, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Clara; her devoted husband, Jack; as well as a few siblings, other relatives, and friends.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the Morgan family from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive in Charlotte. Following the visitation, there will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruby’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
