Ruth Dagenhart Donald passed away peacefully on August 30th, 2026 at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her father, Bennie C. Dagenhart; mom, Lela Coley Dagenhart; brothers, Raymond, Don, Bennie, Howard and sister, Frances Sims.
She is survived by her daughter, Terry Jenkins (David); son, Jack Donald; brother, James Dagenhart; grandchildren, Lacey Devine (Jason) and Dustin Jenkins (Brittany); great-grandchildren; Brystal Devine, Jakob Devine, Camden Devine, Everly Jenkins and Willow Jenkins.
Mom loved those "Grandkids" more than anything in the world and every time she saw them it just made her day.
She was a faithful Tarheels fan and enjoyed getting out in the yard when she was able. She was somewhat of a "Tom Boy" when she was younger and liked to play basketball in school.
Mom started Snow White Day Care Center when her children were young and enjoyed keeping children including her grandchildren until she retired.
We will miss her naughty humor and all her words of wisdom.
A service to celebrate Moms life will be at McEwen Funerals & Cremations at Forest Lawn West, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC, on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 10:30 am with visitation at starting at 10:00 am. Condolences may be submitted at www.forestlawnwest.com
