Ruth Hallman Funderburk, 91, of Charlotte, 91, died Friday, August 1, 2014. She was born in Lancaster SC, December 4, 1922 to the late Hosea and Willie Mae Hallman. Ruth retired from Montaldo’s after 25 years working in their Alternations Department. She was a long time member of Central Steele Creek Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and attending church activities.
Ruth is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, F. Maxwell Funderburk and her son, Kevin. She is survived by her daughter, Linda M. Funderburk; daughter-in-law, Tracey Funderburk; grandchildren, Jessica (Trent) Welch, Missy (Koronz) Bouler, Michael Martin and five great grandchildren, Richie, Chloe, Jaylen, Kara and Tyler.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 3 from 6-8 pm at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road. Funeral service will be held Monday, August 4 at 2 pm at Central Steele Creek Presbyterian Church, 9401 S. Tryon St. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
