I have known Ruth since I was a child on the Brevard College Campus and then later at the bookstore. She was always so sweet and supportive for the past 45 years. She helped with so much and was always glad to see me and my boys when we would come to Brevard to visit. I was just now doing my Christmas cards and of course Ruth has literally always been on my list. I had a feeling since I didn’t hear from her too recently but she’s always sent us a Christmas card. I checked and was sadly directed here. I am so sorry to hear about her passing. I love her and miss her but I am so grateful to have known her and am proud to have called her my friend.

Ruth was an inspiration and lovely friend to my mother who lived across the street from her at Sapphire Manor in Brevard for years.  I appreciate how she would check in on Mom and how they kept an eye out for each other.  I had the joy of sitting and chatting with Ruth after my Mother was placed in a skilled nursing home and she was supportive and gracious.  I first got to know Ruth thru a cooking class (Soups and Breads) we both took back in the late 1980's!  My condolences to her family -- she was very proud of each of you.
