Ruth Swaringen House

Ruth Swaringen House formerly of Salisbury NC passed away Friday October 9th, 2020. She was 90 years old.

Ruth was born in Monroe NC. She graduated from Central High School and later attended Davidson Community College. She had a career in teaching and also worked with Tri County Mental Health. Ruth was an accomplished artist, her specialty being portrait painting.

On September 1, 1950 Ruth married Garland House. The two were married 60 years and enjoyed 21 years of retirement together before his passing in 2011.

Ruth is survived by her two sons, Stephen House (Vickie) of Troy NC, and Douglas House (Sybil) of Dove Canyon California; six grandchildren, Shay House (Kendra) of Mooresville NC., Ryan, Julia, Kevin House of Dove Canyon, CA, Carl Moore, Reese Moore (Shelby) of New London NC, three great grandchildren, RJ, Presley, Jamie Moore of New London NC.

A private graveside service will be held at Sharon Memorial Park.

I am employed where Mrs Ruth was at.. She was my buddy and I loved her so much.. I know she had health issues that effort her mind...,,But we made the best of it she told me one day she was on a boxcar traveling up north and ask me to go with her....of course I said yes so for about 2 months me and Mrs Ruth traveled on the boxcar up north.. on Fridays when I was off the weekend I would say "Mrs Ruth I have to get off the box car and get us some more supplies, but always told her I would be back she would say "You promise you coming back I said yes but it would take me a couple days to get out supplies and she always smile and said "Ok Connie""....Every morning I came to work and she seen me she always knew who I was and said "Good Morning Connie """.. I miss her and will always love her....
