Ruth Ingram Matthews

Ruth Matthews, 83, of Waxhaw passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at White Oaks in Waxhaw, NC. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister and friend to all that knew her.

Ruth was born on March 2, 1928 in Mullins, WVA; daughter of the late Thomas Harvey and Susan Bishop Ingram. She worked at Mill Power Supply Company in Charlotte, NC. She was a member of the Kings and Queens at Weddington United Methodist Church and the Jay Emry Bible Class.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth Jeffrey Matthews and a sister-in-law, Ella Virginia Matthews of Weddington, NC. She was preceded in death by 4 siblings and her husband of 50 years, Jimmy Matthews.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Tuesday, June 8, 2011 at Weddington United Methodist Church, 13901 Providence Road, Weddington, NC with Rev. Dr. Terry Moore and Rev. Ed Briggs officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Weddington United Methodist Church Cemetery.
