Ruth Anthony Purser

Ruth Anthony Purser, age 92 passed away June 7, 2012. A service to celebrate her life will be at 2:00PM Saturday in the Chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, Reverend Don Tyler officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery

Mrs. Purser was born in Alexander County, N. C. November 22, 1919 daughter of the late Thomas Westmoreland and Julia Mae Jolly Anthony. She attended Charlotte First Church of the Nazarene many years, was a graduate of Taylorsville High School, and was owner and operator of Wood Shoe Repair in the Dilworth Community before retiring. She was a very loving mother and always there for her children.

Surviving are daughters, Linda Bohn of Ector Texas, Doris McNeill (John) and Judy Smith (Bud) all of Charlotte, son, Lynn Purser of Charlotte, nine grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Hue Purser and sons, Vaughn Purser and John Purser.
