

Ruth Whitley Reavis, 96, passed away Saturday, March 5th at Levine and Dickson Hospice House, Huntersville. Mrs. Reavis was born and raised in Oakboro, NC, and was a longtime member of Hoskins Avenue Baptist Church in Charlotte. Mrs. Reavis was a staunch Republican and her only regret in Heaven will be that she was unable to cast her vote for Donald Trump.
Mrs. Reavis was preceded in death by husband Baxter Sanford Reavis. Surviving her are sons Baxter Sanford Reavis, Jr. (Bill) of Mt. Holly, Michael Lane Reavis of Oakboro, and and Jerel Alan Reavis (Elizabeth) of Huntersville. Grandchildren include Todd, Tim and Andy Reavis, Michele Reavis-Smallwood, and Randi Reavis, as well as eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving Mrs. Reavis are brother John Whitley of Roanoke, Virginia, sisters Margaret Hatley of Oakboro, and Dee Lindstrom (Herbert) of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 17236 Frog Pond Road, Oakboro, NC 28129 or Levine and Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078.
