Born in Danville, Virginia in Pittsylvania County, Sandi was a woman whose life was defined by compassion, creativity, and an unshakable faith in God. From a young age, she carried a warmth that made others feel seen and valued. Her love for people, her vibrant personality, and her natural ability to uplift those around her made her unforgettable. Whether she was offering encouragement, sharing a laugh, or simply being present, Sandi had a way of touching hearts wherever she went.
Sandi earned her degree in International Business from Gardner-Webb University. She was a gifted musician who played piano and flute, and she expressed joy through singing and dancing. She had a free-spirited soul and a heart for helping others. Coffee, music, friends, and her children were among her greatest joys, and her deep passion for God guided every part of her life.
Above all, Sandi was a devoted mother. Being a mom was her greatest accomplishment and purpose. Growing up as an only child, she always dreamed of having a big family, and she fulfilled that dream with love, dedication, and pride. She leaves behind eight children: Olivia, Claire, Alexis, Rose, Isaac, Ariel, Scarlet, and Emrys; four grandchildren: Phoenix, Juniper, Isabella, and August; and the father of seven of her children, Edwin.
She is survived by her mother, Donna Lynn Pope; her grandmother, Marian Pope; and her father, Jim Hill. She is also survived by her aunt, Cathy Purvis; her aunt and adoptive sister, Collis Hill; two cousins/nieces, Eva Charlton and Susie Flores; and her half-siblings, Zachary Hill and Agatha Mann.
Sandi was truly mesmerizing. Her striking green eyes, fiery spirit, sharp wit, and endless compassion left an impact on everyone she met. She was loving, funny, incredibly intelligent, and profoundly talented. Most importantly, she valued God above all and taught her children to keep Him first and guard their hearts with His word.
Sandi’s presence was irreplaceable. There has never been another human being like her. Her legacy of faith, family, and love will continue through all who knew and cherished her. She was truly one of a kind, and we will miss her more than life itself.
