On December 30th we lost Sarah unexpectedly – our baby daughter, Brooke’s little sister, and her cat Tiramisu’s mom. In a family of practical people, Sarah was our artistic contribution to the world. She graduated from Charlotte Catholic high school, was a Sigma Kappa sister at UNCC where she graduated magna cum laude with dual degrees in psychology and anthropology. She was wrapping up her masters in anthropology from the University of Louisville with an internship she loved at the First in Flight museum at Kitty Hawk. Sarah marched to her own drum – the theme we used for her college entrance papers. She was sensitive and loved passionately; she referred to herself as a “Dandylion” and plain yellow in a world of extroverted red. She wrote a poem titled Dandelion which was published this summer in the Charlotte Earth and Sky publication. She loved One Direction and especially Niall Horan, and as a result so did her family. Our pain is unbearable and we miss her so much – she had so many plans, so many goals, and she was so happy with where her life was and where it was going. We all love you - your aunts, uncles, all your family, your Sisters, and so many friends.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.mcewenderitachapel.com for the Dandurand family.
