Sarah Mae Fowler

Sarah was a graduate of Thomasboro High School and Charlotte Community College. She was employed by Home Insurance Company, retiring in 1984 after 43 years of service as a Commercial Lines Underwriter. Sarah was a member of the Insurance Women’s Organization and The Charlotte Business and Professional Women’s Club. She was a long time member of Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church, and was also a member of the Edwards Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women. Sarah loved playing bridge, traveling, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Fowler Tomberlin in 1981.

Sarah is survived by sisters, Betty Goodwin and husband Bob of Salisbury, NC, Phyllis Crump of Concord, NC, Sylvia Graham of Landis, NC, Joy Martin and husband Bill of Landis, NC, and Marie McCormick of Greenville, NC; brother, Fred Fowler and wife Georgette of Charlotte; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at Sharon Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
