

March 6, 1954 – October 25, 2012
Born to Paul and Sarah Summerlin in Charlotte, in later years Jane came to make her home in Mount Holly, N.C. A graduate of Harding High (Class of ’72), she spent many years working as a secretary for A&P Foods and Rogers American.
She was a member of Shady Brook Baptist Church and Thrift United Methodist, where she sang in the choir for both churches.
Among her passions: cats, traveling and spending time with her best friend Ann Greene.
Devoted to her children and grandchildren, she was often praised as a “neighborhood mom” because she never turned away other children that wanted to spend time with her family.
Jane is survived by her mother Sarah Summerlin, sister Joanne Taylor (and spouse), sister-in-laws Harriett Summerlin and Rebecca Jaynes, daughter Christy Hunter (and spouse), son Bryan Lemons (and spouse), multiple grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The immediate family wishes to extend sincere thanks for the support and friendship of Jane’s niece Mary and nephew A.K. Jaynes during Jane’s time of need.
She is preceded in her passing by father Paul Summerlin, brother Ken Summerlin and husband Kenneth Jaynes.
Visitation for friends and family will be held at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home Sunday, Oct. 28th, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Funeral Services will take place Monday, Oct. 29, 2 p.m. at Thrift United Methodist.
