Sandy was born June 21,1952 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Nathan Simon and Doreen Tryon Simon. She spent her formative years in Cleveland before moving with her husband to Southfield, Michigan where she worked in medical records and raised her family. She moved to Charlotte in 2009 after tiring of northern winters.
Sandy is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jerry. She was the loving mother of Steven (Whitney) Simon of Chicago and Elyse Simon of Sacramento and grandmother of Nathan Simon and Daliah Simon.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Gail Guzik.
Sandy was a member of Temple Beth El since moving to Charlotte. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 31 at Temple Beth, 5101 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28226. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National MS Society.
