Sawath Thanpirak

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sawath Thanpirak, 60, of Charlotte, North Carolina. Sawath was born on May 10, 1965, in Pakse, Laos, to her late parents, Kei and Meime Vongpungpheng. She peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 20th, 2025 in the Chapel of McEwen Funeral & Cremation Service at Forest Lawn West, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208.

Sawath was a devoted homemaker and passion of getting bamboo, loving mother, and cherished grandmother whose life was centered around her family. She worked for many years at Pharr Yarns, where her quiet strength and dedication left a lasting impact on those who worked alongside her.

Sawath was preceded in death by her late husband, Tha Thanpirak, and is survived by her loving husband, Bounmy Phomphibouth, with whom she shared many years of happiness and love.

She is the proud mother of two daughters: Kim Fleury and her husband Gary Fleury, and Temme (Noi) Sievers and her husband Daniel Sievers, whom she had with her late husband, Tha Thanpirak. She is also survived by her sons, Lucky Phomphibouth and Mounsai “Civic” Phomphibouth, children she had with her current husband, Bounmy Phomphibouth. Sawath’s memory will continue to live on through her grandchildren: Jacob Fleury (her oldest grandson), Kalvin Sievers, Alexi Nanthavong, Abram Springs, Samantha Sievers, and Natalie Sievers.

In addition to her husband and children, Sawath is survived by many dear relatives and friends, whose lives she touched with her kindness, love, and unwavering support.
