He first served in the US Army and later served two tours in Vietnam in the US Air Force. Following his time in the military, Mr. Roberts was employed as an electrical engineer with the US Government. For the past eighteen years, Mr. Roberts lived in Myrtle Beach and Murrell’s Inlet where he worked as a security guard.
He is survived by three children, Dale Roberts and Donnie Roberts, both of Gallivants Ferry, SC and Debra Roberts of Conway, SC; six grandchildren, Casie, Brett, Sean, Chance and Chris Roberts and Josh Windham; and four great grandchildren; as well as two brothers, Larry Roberts of Chester, SC and Marvin Roberts of Lexington, SC.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Roberts.
Mr. Roberts’ family will receive friends from noon until1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 7th at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home followed by a graveside service with military honors at 1:00 p.m. in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
