

She was born on October 28, 1946, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late Franklin and Lillian Hulsey.
Her first job out of school was the Heritage Quilts, where she became the first female vice president of the company. After she married Walton "Hoppy" Hopkins, they moved to Charlotte where she began a successful real estate career that spanned over forty years, helping countless families buy and sell homes.
She enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, cruising (especially the Alaska cruise), planting flowers in the yard, reading mystery books, watching British sitcoms, Star Trek, and listening to Elvis and Frank Sinatra.
She and her husband, Walton "Hoppy" Hopkins, were married for forty-five years.
She is survived by her husband, Walton Hopkins; her daughter, Diane Edgemon; her brother, Joseph Hulsey and his wife Patricia Hulsey; her stepchildren, Tracy Roberts and her husband Shannon Roberts, Chase and Pierce Hopkins.
Family and friends will gather at 11:00 am on Monday, April 6, 2026 at McEwen Funeral Home - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210. Committal Service will be held at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212, on April 6, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Sherry's memory to the Alzheimer's Association or Dementia Society of America.
