Shirley W. Caulder, 91, formerly of Huntersville, NC, passed on July 24, 2026. Born February 26, 1935 in Rock Hill, SC, the daughter of the late David and Viola (McGinnis) Wright. She was the wife of the late Alfred A. Caulder Jr.
A graduate of Winthrop College, Shirley was a member of Statesville Road Baptist Church, Charlotte. She was a waitress at The Open Kitchen for more than 50 years.
Shirley enjoyed working with her customers, working in her yard, crocheting, ancestral research, computer games, shopping at Lowes, collecting Barbie dolls and Norman Rockwell paintings and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Deborah (Lee) Byrd, David Caulder and Kevin Caulder; grandchildren, Jeanette (Tommy) Absher, Johnny (Naomi) Cantrell, Noah Caulder and Denton (Rebecca) Byrd; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Brandon, Hunter, Levi, Conrad and Raymond; along with several nieces and nephews.
