Shirley Freeman Robinson

With great sadness, we announce the loss of our wonderful mother, Shirley Robinson, 77, of Charlotte. She was mom to many more than those of us that she gave birth to. Words can’t express all of her special qualities despite all of her obstacles in life. She was a beautiful, caring person that will be greatly missed.

Shirley was born in Union County to the late Eva Odessa Keziah Freeman and John Brice Freeman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Robinson Sr., a sister, Lucille Taylor and two brothers, Tommy Freeman and J. B. Freeman.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include her children: Joseph Robinson Jr. (Daniella), Douglas Robinson, Cindy Sullivan (Chris), Beverly Faulkner, Angie Lineberger; grandchildren: Kady Watkins, Erica Brand, Pia Carvallo, Emilee Robinson, Kailee Robinson, Agustin De Souza, Douglas Robinson Jr., Jonathan Sullivan, Samantha Sullivan, Leanna Snellings, David Darnell Jr., as well as nine great grandchildren and two on the way.

The family would like to thank Renee King for your love and care for our mother.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte with a service to follow at 2:00. Burial will conclude in Sharon Memorial Park.
