Shirley Ann Whittington

Shirley A. Whittington, age 81, of Charlotte, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016. Born January 5, 1935 in Dillon, SC she was the daughter of the late John Wilkerson and Marie Bailey Wilkerson. Mrs. Whittington was a dedicated member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.

She retired from the Travelers Insurance as a Supervisor for many years.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Christena of Huntersville; grandchildren, Ashley, Cameron and Conner. Mrs. Whittington was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Gerald Whittington, on May 25, 1982; and two siblings, Donna Hinson and Buddy Wilkerson.

Services to celebrate the life of Shirley Whittington are planned for 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 28th, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Friends may visit from 10:30 to 11 am. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 pm in Green Lawn Cemetery in Dillon, SC.
