Stella Carlyn Kraft Killian, a very kind, benevolent and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed from this life on the morning of July 4, 2016. Carlyn was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Lee Killian, Sr. and her parents, Jacob Christian Kraft and Stella Ubele Kraft of Savannah, GA.
Carlyn is survived by her children Lee and Karen Killian, David Killian, Mary and David Bowman, Carl Killian and Steve Killian of Charlotte, and step sons Ron and Brenda Killian of Spartanburg, SC, and Fred and Elisha Killian of Quinby, VA. She is also survived by a brother George Kraft of Savannah. She had 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Carlyn was a very loving person who enjoyed holidays and family gatherings. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to her caretakers, Astrid Peterson and Rachel Stockton of Comfort Keepers who provided Carlyn with wonderful care.
Visitation will be at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte,NC on Wednesday evening, July 6, 2016 from 6:30-8:00pm. Funeral services will be on Friday, July 8, at Bonaventure Cemetery, 330 Bonaventure Road, Savannah, GA 31404 at 11:00am.
Presiding over Carlyn’s service will be her nephew, Pastor Ralph Kraft of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Startown, NC.
