

Steven Clay Tate, 56, of Charlotte, NC passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012 at his residence. Steve was a loving husband, caring father and doting grandfather. He will be missed by everyone who knew him as he touched everyone in one way or another.
He is survived by the love of his life for 31 years his wife, Pam, his daughters. Lauren Nicole and Ashlee Renee Tate of Jacksonville, FL his mother Frieda Tate of Roanoke, VA, brother, Ike Tate (wife, Mimi) of Charlotte, NC, his sister, Cecina Craft (husband, Danny) of Roanoke, VA , nieces include; Sarah Tate & Laura Andrews(husband, Matt) and nephews; Jeffrey Tate (wife-Claudia)& Patrick Tate of Charlotte, NC, Graham Tate of Roanoke, VA and his grandson- Kingston.
Steve loved working with children; he was a Royal Ranger Leader at New Life Christian Ministry and a sandlot football coach for many years in Roanoke, VA. He graduated from Jefferson Senior High School ’74 and Emory & Henry College ’78. Steve was an extremely passionate, active, energetic and loving soul. He truly enjoyed his life to the fullest always lending a hand to his family and friends. Steve leaves behind many precious memories. So, this is not goodbye but rather, we will be seeing you soon!
A celebration of his life and memorial service will be held at McEwen Funeral Service- Pineville Chapel, Pineville, NC on Friday, September 28th at 3:00pm with a reception following at Ike & Mimi Tate’s home. A memorial service will be held in Roanoke, VA at a date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to his brother Ike Tate.
