Steven Richard Turner

Steve knew many people and loved them all in his own way. His lifetime love for music, the Lakers, the Washington Commanders, and all things UNC was known to everyone in his wide circle of friends. HIs ability to quote stats on those sports was unparalleled.

Born January 7, 1965 and raised in Clinton, MD, Steve made lifelong friendships with Mike Carnucci, Ron Alvarez and Dawn Edwards. Steve worked for NOAA before moving to North Carolina in 2007. After moving down, he then worked for UPS for 16 years where he made too many friends to name, and cherished those friendships until his illness rendered him unable to work in 2023.

Spending time with his family was one of Steve’s favorite things to do. He especially enjoyed any activity that involved his beloved nieces, Katelyn and Courtney.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Delores Turner of Charlotte, NC, his maternal grandparents Roy and Vivian Williams of WV, paternal grandparents Victor and Viv Turner of WV, and a special aunt Nancy Williams of WV.

Surviving family members are his sister and brother in law Teresa and Jason Hill of Charlotte, NC, his two previously mentioned nieces, maternal aunt and uncle, Millie and Butch Riley of Mt Airy, NC, paternal aunt and uncle Jo and Eb Morrison of Tiffin, OH and several cousins.

No services are planned in accordance with Steve’s wishes.
