I'm still missing  Ms. Kim.. not able to talk with her.. I just miss my friend...
she will never be forgotten.

    Sun and I met so very long ago when she was the ESL department secretary at CPCC and I was one of the adjunct teachers. As the department grew, and then was divided into two branches, Sun continued on her dedicated way. Her kindness and caring for the international students passing through our classes was remarkable. The help she gave to so many people was much more than the basics. They will never forget, I am certain.
    As CPCC grew, Sun's role at the college changed. Nevertheless,  her caring nature continued. I would see her sometimes on her lunchtime walk through the Central campus - always with a smile and time to turn the conversation to what I was doing.
    Sun and I shared the Catholic faith. For her, that included her responsibilities for the priests who were sent from Korea to serve in Charlotte. We talked about their language and cultural challenges of living in Charlotte, and I had an expanded glimpse into some of the graciousness she had extended to internationals at CPCC. I can only imagine the untold hours she put into her church work.
   To me, Suncha Kim will always represent "the valiant woman" in Proverbs 31.
