Susan Brudnicki Kunka

Susan was born and raised in Charlotte (April 16, 1957) to Patricia and Leonard Brudnicki. She attended Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church and graduated from Independence High School. Susan had a 20 year career at Duke Power, where she met her husband. After leaving Duke Power she concentrated on her passions of decorating and gardening.

Those who knew Susan remember her for her infectious smile, heartfelt laugh, compassionate ear and kind heart. She was truly a kind gentle soul with a real passion for the beauty around her.

Susan was preceded in death by her loving parents, Leonard and Patricia Brudnicki. She is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Larry Kunka; her brothers, Robert (Cyndi) Brudnicki and Michael Brudnicki; and her cherished niece and nephew, Katie (Mike) Mills and Scott Williams. Susan will be remembered with love and gratitude by all whose lives she touched.

At Susan’s request, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations in Susan’s honor be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Her family chooses to remember her not for the illness that took her, but for the moments of joy, laughter, and connection she shared with the world. She is finally at rest and free from pain.
