Born in Charlotte on February 7, 1955, Sylvia was a daughter of the late Otto and Dolly Edwards Scism. At one time she was employed at Cracker Barrel.
Preceding her death was her husband, Robert Lee Carter Jr.
Surviving are her children, Robert “Trae” Carter III (Carey) of Harrisburg, NC, Amber Billington (Nolan) of Charlotte, NC, Shane Carter (Anne) of Charleston, SC and Seth Carter of Charlotte, NC.
Graveside services and burial are planned for 9:00 am Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Salisbury National Cemetery.
