Sylvia was a native of New Bedford, Massachusetts and the daughter of George and Charlotte Cash.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richardson Dubreuil and an infant son Mark Dubreuil, and a sister Natalie Marshall.
Sylvia enjoyed a variety of office and retail jobs in other residences of Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Jersey before taking permanent residence in Charlotte, North Carolina. While living in Charlotte, Sylvia became interested in Southern history and became a docent at the Hezekiah Alexander Homesite. She gave tours to adults and school children for many years. Later, she became a guide at historic Rosedale Plantation. It brought much pleasure to her and enriched her personal life.
Most importantly she dedicated herself to being a very caring and supportive mother to her children throughout the years. Her commitment to and love of family were foremost in her life and this was equally returned to her. Unconditional love and a listening ear with a wry sense of humor were her most admired traits.
Sylvia is survived by a son Jeffrey Dubreuil, a daughter Nanette Kurz Bush (Randon), grandaughter Olivia Kurz Heller (Cameron) and great granddaughters Everly and Lana Heller. She also leaves several nieces and nephews residing in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
She was a member of Amity Presbyterian Church. Arrangements have been made at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Road in Charlotte on June 28. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am. Interment of her ashes will be in Rural Cemetery of New Bedford, MA.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregivers and the recent nursing staff at Harris Hospice.
