Ann, as she was known, was born the 19th of June, 1941 in Wilkes County North Carolina a daughter of the late Toy Cardwell and Belva Cornett Cardwell. She was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother and an avid NASCAR fan.
She is survived by her three children: Gerald R. Hargett, Jr. and his wife, Charlene of Gastonia, NC; Gayle A. McKenzie and her husband, Dale of Clover, SC and Douglas S. Hargett and his wife, Sandra of Belmont, NC; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Gerald "Jerry" Hargett, Sr. and a daughter, Sandra K. Church.
A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, located at 4601 Freedom Dr, Charlotte, NC, 28208. The service is scheduled for Tuesday, the 25th of November, 2025, at 11:00 am.
