Born on June 14, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of Leroy and Dorothy McComb. He attended Northern Illinois University, where he met his first wife, Mary, and they were married in 1966.
Terry worked for many years in the paper/dye industry with GAF, Sandoz and finally Clariant. His career took him from Chicago to New Jersey and then finally to Charlotte, where he and his immediate family lived since 1983.
Terry was a quiet, loving individual, deeply respectful of the joys of nature and enjoyed nothing more than a quiet day at home with the sounds of birds, cats, dogs, and laughter. He loved saltwater tanks and amateur radio for years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Dorothy, his first wife Mary and older sister Jeanette Cutrera. He is survived by his devoted second wife, Marie who he married in 2001, his son Christopher and stepsons Jeffrey R.W. Wilson and Kyle A. Wilson, both of Toronto, Ontario.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel of McEwen Funeral Service – Pineville Chapel located at 10500 Park Road in Charlotte on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 6pm.
