

Terry was a lifelong Charlottean and he never met a stranger. He had a great attitude about life even near the end of his. Terry was a member of Third Presbyterian Church.
Over his life he loved playing and watching sports. Terry played football, baseball and basketball for the Mint Hill Athletic Association and later Northeast Junior High and Independence High School. He then played adult softball for many years. Shooting pool was another hobby and he often played in leagues in Charlotte. Terry also loved working with vintage cars and shared this passion with his dad.
His work life brought him to a job at the City of Charlotte, where he worked for 30 years before retiring.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents Larry and Jean VonCannon.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years Kim who lovingly took care of him during all of his treatments. Terry is also survived by his son Zachary, an accomplished musician, of whom he was extremely proud.
Other survivors include his brother Tommy VonCannon (Pete), his sister Kristy Brannock (Jody) and several nieces and nephews that he thought the world of.
