Thelma Auten Plummer, age 81 of Charlotte passed away September 15, 2013 at Levine & Dickson Hospice in Huntersville. A service to celebrate her life will be at 2:00PM Wednesday September 18th, in the Paul Helton Chapel, Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, Pastor Steve Bass officiating. Visitation will be one hour (1:00-2:00PM) prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Plummer was born in Mecklenburg County, August 21, 1932 daughter of the late Johnnie H and Verdie Johnson Auten. She was a member of Sunset Road Baptist Church, Hovis Sunday School Class, was a graduate of East Mecklenburg High School in the first class and loved to sew , cook and quilt. Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Joe M. Plummer, children, Perry Plummer (Tammy) of Mt. Holly, NC and Mark Plummer (Beth) of Huntersville, grandchildren, Josh, Jacob, Aaron, Theresa, Timmy and Trevor, sisters, Doris Martin (Joe) Harrisburg, NC and Ruby Rushing (Carlton) of Mint Hill and a brother, Melvin Auten of Converse, Ga. She was preceded in death by a son, Joe Plummer. Memorials may be made to the debt retirement fund of Sunset Rd. Baptist Church, 2317 Sunset Rd., Charlotte, NC, 28216.
