Thomas David Bass

Thomas “David” Bass was born in Charlotte on the 1st of May, 1953, son of the late Thomas and Orene Bass. David graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in 1971. He worked at a local trucking firm before he joined his parents’ family business, The Little Super Market on Wilkinson Blvd. as their assistant manager until its closure in 1990. He then worked for Dixie News. David was a member of the Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church and looked forward to the Sunday services with his church family. David was always full of life and never knew a stranger.

David was predeceased by his parents, Thomas & Orene Bass and survived by his children, Adam Bass, (grandchildren, Karmen Bass, Alice Bass) and Kerry Bass White (grandchildren, Brayden Rushing, Emmaline White), his brother, Michael Bass (Joni) of New Bern, (nephews Christopher Bass, Graham Bass, Cameron Bass) many nephews, nieces, cousins, extended families and church friends. Also David’s very special friends, Kim & Tommy Beacham, Jerry & Paula Price, Rick & Lynn Cooke, Buzz & Carol Holder, Sammy Price, John Farmer and Britt Springs, Stan Springs and Benjamin Shives of Little Rock Auto.

A Memorial Service to celebrate David's life will be held 2:00 PM on Saturday, the 9th of August, 2025 in the Chapel of McEwen Funerals & Cremations at Forest Lawn West, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208.
